La Garenne International bilingual school for children between 5 and 13 years in Switzerland. La Garenne summer camps are aimed at all students who wish to learn or perfect their English or French language skills play sports and participate in excursions. Learning at La Garenne is about developing the skills knowledge and understanding of each individual student to be a life long learner through the process of enquiry enjoyable experiences and continuous thinking. La Garenne upholds a warm homely atmosphere in which the students feel supported and cared for. Strong family values are paramount; we help to build trust and confidence in each of our students helping them to mature into responsible young adults. At La Garenne we place the same important emphasis on creating an excellent and inspiring learning environment which allows children to progress well and achieve the high goals placed before them. La Garenne offers two systems: a French Section and an English Section. Within the French Section the students are separated into Minis (aged 7 – 10 years old) and Juniors (aged 11 – 13). Within the English Section the students are separated into three sections: The Cubs (4 – 7 years old) The Minis (8 – 10 years old) and The Juniors (11 – 13 years old). High academic expectations coupled with a nurturing environment provide the basis for each and every student to flourish. The student’s individual talents and interests are celebrated and developed throughout their years spent at La Garenne. Our 8 IPC personal goals: communication co operation respect morality adaptability thoughtfulness resilience and enquiry are the focus at La Garenne encouraging students to reflect upon and enhance their personal development. At La Garenne we pride ourselves on our latest and most updated versions of technology each classroom is equipped with an up to date Smart Board we believe in modern forms of pedagogy which provide interactive methods of learning. We learn by recognizing and valuing all learning styles multiple intelligences and celebrating individual differences. With this in mind we have adopted the International Primary Curriculum within our English Section this is taught alongside English mathematics and French. This thematic creative curriculum helps our students to develop into international minded young people with a growing sense of others. We work extremely hard to ensure that the students develop a level of mastery in the English language. As a Cambridge Preparation Centre we prepare and enter students from both the English and French section for Cambridge ESOL exams at the end of each academic year. These highly recognized exams open doors to higher education improve employment opportunities and because they are recognized globally can increase a student`s choices for study or work. La Garenne prides itself on its small class sizes and the individual attention each student receives from our highly qualified and internationally experienced teachers who all have British qualifications. Our SENCO (Special Educational Needs Co coordinator) works alongside our teachers to support areas of weakness and foster and develop our gifted and talented students. The student`s varying accounts of abilities are continuously taken into account which is reflected in the planning and teaching. Greater challenges in lessons are given and further opportunities to develop these talents are offered through private lessons.
